5/15/2023 0 Comments Sea of tranquility review![]() ![]() Campbell, as is almost always the way, bases these pieces around his acoustic guitar work, although that can be as pensive and abstract as “Mobile 2 (Fragment)†(there are four “Mobile†pieces, but without context I can’t quite tell you their significance), or as beautiful, warm and textured as “Transitâ€. That, however, doesn’t stop Journey Into Space from standing up on its own merits, the moody and atmospheric pieces feeling very much like short stories themselves. Inspired by the poetry of Sean Street, this release is part of a collaborative project and its live performance will be part of the Liverpool Writing On The Wall Festival 2023, which will bring poetry and musical performance together into one presentation. ![]() However, not even halfway through 2023 and the prolific, eclectic composer and musician is back, this time with Journey Into Space. With three albums released in the final third of 2022 you would probably expect Liverpudlian guitarist Neil Campbell to be taking a well earned breather. ![]()
